I DID IT

I got my Roku! I got it set up all by myself! And I L-O-V-E it! I would do the happy dance but that would knock my computer in the floor and I kinda absolutely love it as well! I just had to share my absolute happiness! BTW, thanks, DJ, for the recommendation. I am so glad I got it! It’s gonna do lots of wonderful things for me.

What Ever Happened To Chuck Cunningham?

Remember Happy Days? When the show first started there were 3 Cunningham kids. After a while there was only Richie and Joanie. So what happened to good ol’ Chuck? He just disappeared. Then Fonzie was like their 3rd child.

Don’t you hate when tv shows do stuff without saying what happened? Another show that recently did that was The New Girl. One of the Wayans brothers was on there and I thought he was gonna be great! Then suddenly he is gone. Poof! No reason. He shows up on another show that really sucks.

I’m trying to think of another show this has happened on. Oh! I know! The Cosby Show started out with no Sondra and suddenly there she was. Then when Lisa Bonet misbehaved in real life, she was shipped off to Africa with no real reason. Now you know Cliff and Clair would NOT have gone for that!

And the youngest sister, Judy, on Family Matters…For such a close-knit and large family, what happened?! Carl was on the police force. Shouldn’t he have known his own kid was missing? Then again he had his mother, sister-in-law, nephew and too often neighbor basically living there. I still don’t know how you lose your kid, though. Maybe she was a family member who didn’t matter so much? I dunno.

Another thing I remember is on the Brady Bunch they had that dog, Tiger. Remember Jan was allergic to some sort of powder for him? We thought we were going to have to get rid of him and wow! Then after a while no more Tiger. Did he die or what?

Good TV Shows

I just found the show “Love Bites” on http://www.hulu.com which was cancelled after one season.  So far this show is genius. I am not sure why it was cancelled. Features some of my favorite actors. Amanda from Ugly Betty. Greg Grunberg from Alias. Smart and funny.

The second episode is so hilarious! A girl actually calls a guy out for the “let’s be friends” business. It was hilarious. She did what thousands of women have wanted to do. I thought it was great. It’s too bad that good shows like this get cancelled.

This year has some good shows, but this would have made a really good addition.

Retro TV Shows

So have y’all noticed the new retro tv shows? The ones I am talking about in particular are Pan Am and The Playboy Club. I have fallen in love with both of these. They’re smart, funny, and a great look at history. I know they’re not accurate but it is still a way to look back into the past.

The show Pan Am went through a lot to get some accurate information. They showed the logo on swizzle sticks and other things and real stewardesses from that time period said that they looked like the real thing. While Pan Am called them stewardesses, they were hostesses, guides, etc. They offered women a chance to see the world and do things never before possible.

I thought The Playboy Club was going to be just sex. Pretty much what everyone thought back then, too. But when you watch the show you get to see why some of these women worked there. It wasn’t as slutty as it seemed. And you get to see how the mob tied in. Celebrities. The whole shebang!

It is funny how tv has these trends. But I like this trend. As much as I used to like reality tv, this is much better to me and much more refreshing!.

Not Everyone Gets The Life They Want

I was watching a tv show and this was one of the lines. While I have always known this, it was the way the character said it that really made the words have such an impact. I was like, “Wow! That is such a horrible thing. It is not right or fair.” We aren’t promised right or fair in life. I know that. You know that. But it doesn’t change the fact that we don’t like it.

I know a lot of people who don’t have the lives they want. It may look like it to the world, but I know the truth. Some people have the materialistic things but don’t have love. Some people have love but don’t have the materialistic things. Some people have talent but don’t have much else.

Life doesn’t deal us fair hands. There are days when I wish life was fair. Then there are other days when I am glad it isn’t. I don’t know that I would like to get what I really deserve. But then some days I feel like I deserve better than what I have. I think we all feel that way. I wish more people had happiness. I wish the right people had married the right people. I wish people had enough money to pay their bills. I wish there was more laughter in the world.

Not everyone gets the life they want but I sure hope they get a life they can tolerate and that brings them some joy. Everyone deserves some joy.
