Who Never Gives Up?

I was thinking about God today. He has been so loving and faithful to me. I wish I could say the same all the time about myself towards Him. I’m not perfect and I will never pretend to be. I’m not even sure I want to be. But I would like to do better than I do now.

I got to thinking about people I care about and how God has worked in their lives. For some of them it took a long time for them to let Him. What made me think of this? A Joyce Meyer message I saw: God will never give up on you. Never forget that. (1 Corinthians 1:9). It’s so true. Others may give up on us, but He won’t. We may give up on ourselves, but He won’t. He believes we are better than we have behaved because He created us.

All of this touched my heart in a poignant way. I think of some people I know who ran so hard away from God, but when they finally realized that they should be running towards Him instead of away, their whole outlook on life changed. Today I will pray for those still running. I ran for years and know what a difference it makes to change directions.

Hard Days

I am having a hard day. I got news that an old family friend was in a terrible accident yesterday and is in critical condition. He is only 5 years older than me. He used to come over to my house a lot growing up and I went to his. His parents and my father grew up together. It is just so unreal when you hear of people not far from your own age close to death’s door. I worry about him. I worry about his family. I haven’t seen them in years because I now live in North Carolina and they’re in Alabama. But just because you don’t see someone doesn’t mean that you just quit caring about them. I care about a lot of people I don’t see.

Please keep Dennis Miller and his family in your prayers today. They are in need of them. I’m sure the whole family would appreciate them.
