I Have A Mocking Cat

Soleil the Silly Cat

My Mocking Cat

Yes, you read it correctly. I have a mocking cat. When I make sounds other than talking, she tries to imitate me. It is hilarious. The reason I even thought to post this is because of what happened just a moment ago. I was looking something up online and she was sitting beside me on the bed. She is also a nosy cat and was watching the screen. I had a slight tickle in my throat so I did a little cough. I heard her do one. So I coughed again to see what would happen. She coughed again. So I looked her in the eye and coughed and she made the noise again. I burst out laughing and then she looked at me as if I had suddenly grown a second head.  This isn’t the first time she has done this. If I sneeze she does a fake sneeze. She is so cute. If I had a significant other, I would get him to catch this because anytime I move she runs. Soleil and I would be YouTube sensations! And what is so precious is that it isn’t a game for her. She is very concerned and that is why she is doing it. She is making sure you are ok and that is her way of showing concern. God bless my sensitive cat! Chloe gives a toss of her head, makes a raspberry sound while swishing her tail and walks away. Her only concern is that there better be Friskies Grillers in her bowl!

My Cat Has Anxiety

I think Soleil has anxiety. She has always been clingy. She’s  always up and under me. The other day I almost fell down the stairs because of this. If I try to make her go to another room or push her away, she gets upset. I thought cats were supposed to be aloof and all that. Not Soleil. She will stick as close to you as possible. Well, as long as you aren’t trying to put her into water. She is even to the point now, though, where she will come into the bathroom while I am taking a shower and watch me through the clear shower liner. If she is sitting beside me she also does this compulsive licking. She has to lick  my arm if she can reach it. I fuss at her and she acts all hurt but it absolutely drives me nuts! I cannot stand it. I think when I take her to the vet for her shots that I am going to ask him about this and see if there is some herbal kitty Xanax or something. She needs to chill out! I mean sh is the sweetest cat in the world, but man is she anxious!

Shut Up!

OK, are you ready? Give us your best five minutes on: LOUD

**********************************************

5 minutes? Really? On loud? OK. Loud. My head is so loud. I don’t have to have external noise. There’s internal noise. Something is always going on inside. It’s like I can’t turn it off.

This morning I was driving home from work just wanting to shut it off and shut down after a hectic night. I needed peace and quiet. I finally had to say to myself, “Shut up!” I literally said it out loud. For a moment, the chatter in my head paused and then after the shock of me talking to myself it resumed at a more frantic pace.

It was talking about the events of the night, things I needed to get done, wondering why my head was hurting (yeah, I wonder…you have this cacophony of noise yammering and see what happens. did i use the word cacophony right?), thinking about my homework that I need to complete to be done with the class I am in, thinking about the cat pooping on the floor and wondering why she has decided to do that, thinking of the gazillion coupons that I have that I need to clip. Too much to think about and it’s causing noise in my head and it’s LOUD!

My Cat Is a Food Snob and a Critic

Chloe. The adorable looking cat is now a food snob and a critic. She used to like the store brand cat food just fine. Then I got a coupon for a free bag of food. Gee, thanks, Friskies! I wonder if they put Kitty Crack in those bags. Now if my precious one doesn’t have those dang Grillers, I get the “look”. And lemme tell ya, that look says a lot. I can just hear my darling saying, “What? You expect me to eat store brand food? What’s wrong with you?!” It got so bad that I opened a can of tuna earlier just to appease her. That made Soleil happy, but Chloe? Ha! She wants Grillers! Now! I told her she was just gonna have to wait til in the morning when I come home from work. She’s not happy. She squeaked at me and walked away.

I guess I’m in the doghouse until I buy that poor starving cat the right food!

This is Chloe the Cat who is not happy with me.

This is sweet Soleil who is just kinda blase’ about the whole thing.

Catnip Fun

If you have read any of my past blogs you will know that I have two bratty cats, Chloë and Soleil.  They are the apples of my eye and sometimes the bane of my existence. I don’t have children so I do sometimes go overboard with the “girls.” I’m cool with that.

So for Christmas I HAD to get the girls something they would love. What, though? I couldn’t afford the big ol’ cat tower that I want for them and I think they would go crazy over. So I picked them up some toys and catnip. I haven’t had catnip around in a while. OMG! Talk about some fun! Chloë is usually too uppity to have fun where you can see her. Every now and then she’ll find a twist tie that she can’t resist but generally she isn’t too fun-loving. Soleil is usually the clown of the two. So they actually opened the catnip themselves and of course it went everywhere. I found them rolling and writhing in bliss. Then the running through the house commenced. I just sat and watched the whole thing with bemused uncertainty. Who knew what might happen?!

The next thing I saw was Chloë crashing. She was hanging off the arm of the loveseat. And, yes, I do mean hanging. She looked stoned. I said her name and she could only move her eyes. She was like, “Mom, you’re ruining my buzz. Be quiet!” I laughed at her.

So now when the girls are bored or maybe I’m bored, I’m getting the catnip out. Next time I hope to have a video camera ready to go. I have to catch the silliness for the world.
