The Leaf Dilemma
I have a leaf dilemma at my house. The leaves keep falling and daily my landlord’s dad feels the need to try to manage them. He tries to blow them into submission. When that doesn’t work, he rakes them. I feel like asking him if he realizes they’re still going to be there until the last leaf falls off the trees. It’s like he is fighting a war against the leaves and they’re winning. He’s obsessed with those leaves. I saw him out there today with the wind blowing slightly trying to rake them into a bag. It seemed rather fruitless to me considering that the wind kept sending them hither and yon. I know the ones in the road are dangerous, but the ones on the grass? What are they hurting? Just let them stay there until they’ve all fallen. Then try to wrangle them. Then again, he could be doing it to irritate me. That leaf blower is a pain. I hate it.
